<< two views of the same male of Spanish Argus (Aricia morronensis ssp boudranei) ; this very scarce species is endemic to the French Pyrenees. Unlike its cousin, the Brown Argus which lives in the same area (see below), the black dots on the upperside are circled with white scales both in the male & the female. There are also very few orange  markings on the upperside. The marginal lunules on the underside are fawn and not orange - Hautes Pyrénées alt.1620m (France) - 27/08/2014
